Zetterstrom is a Danish concert pianist who has left his home in Copenhagen to pursue his career. When a performance brings him back to his homeland, the memories of his past begin to reveal themselves as being shrouded in forgetfulness. He receives an invitation to return to a particular number of blocks in central Copenhagen referred to as “The Zone.” He enters the rabbit hole armed only with a rigid list of instructions on how to maneuver. His memories are slowly revealed to him and a passion is returned to his life unlike any he has felt in years. He is left missing only one thing: his ability to play the piano. Allegro is a vibrant mix of emotional uncovery, visual effects, and storybook animated sequences. “Had Tarkovsky ever felt the urge to shoot a perfume commercial, it would probably look a lot like Allegro.” (Xan Brooks, The Guardian)
